Tigh-na-Clash is situated in the small coastal village of Melvich which is ideally situated for touring the unique northern coastline, from John O'Groats to Cape Wrath. There are also wonderful opportunities for inland excursions to the Flow Country and the RSPB Reserve in Forsinard and for forest walks, bird watching, hill walking, fishing, beach walking, surfing and diving.
Take a wild life cruise from John O'Groats or a day trip to Orkney.

Visit Dunnet Head, our most northerly point overlooking the Pentland Firth with views to Dounreay or travel to Cape Wrath, our most westerly point.

Nearby Bettyhill has an excellent indoor pool, with sauna and jacuzzi. Beauty treatments are also available. The Tourist Office is also at Bettyhill, as well as the Clan Mackay Museum.

The Clearance Village at Achanlochy is also worth a visit. For climbers try Ben Loyal and Ben Hope at Tongue. The Queen Mother's Castle of Mey and Gardens are now open to the Public every day except Fridays.

A popular destination for visitors is the Reay links golf course which is just 6 miles away from the guest house. There are other courses at Thurso, Wick, Brora and Golspie.

We are ideally situated for an overnight stop if you are visiting the Orkney Islands or making a day trip there. The nearest towns are Thurso and Scrabster Harbour (16 miles) where there are splendid fish restaurants as well as many other visitor attractions.
